I know, we’re not quite to spring yet but we can dream. I’m sure that everyone has been thinking about where they want to go and what that first trip of the year is going to look like. I can’t wait either! But, in the meantime, we can get the RV’s ready for when it is finally time to hit the road. Now is the perfect opportunity to go through your gear, update expired or missing items and fix some of those things that got put off last year. I’ll write more about RV maintenance later but for now I wanted to pass on some of the basic items that I have put together to get our RV ready for another season. Enjoy!

RV storage bins can become a mess very quickly, especially if you have a smaller rig where space is at a premium. And hauling out those hoses and cords can be a real hassle if they aren’t well organized. These bags help with exactly that! They give you options to stow accessories, fresh and black water hoses as well as an electrical cord. Don’t open up a bin that looks like a squirrels nest, make things so much easier on yourself by getting them right HERE.

This falls under the maintenance category also but it’s also a good reminder in spring. Check your fuses! They could be fine after sitting through the winter or maybe one blew at the end of last season and you forgot about it. Clean the dust off of them, have a quick peak and this could save a lot of hassle on an upcoming trip. And, if you don’t already have one, get one of these spare fuse kits to keep with you. Freshen up your water tank. Since your RV has probably been sitting for several months it’s a good idea to run this through your system after de-winterizing. This will help to clean out any foul smells or tastes. It doesn’t hurt to do this several times during the season! Get the Spring Fresh solution HERE

I’ve been using this regularly to keep the grey water tank and kitchen plumbing clean. This helps with any grease buildup in the pipes and your sink smelling fresh. I do use it in the bathroom sink and shower as well but even more in the kitchen. Get your grey water treatment HERE

Since we are on the topic of tank cleaning, here are the drop-ins for your black tank. These are orange scented and do an excellent job. You can get them right HERE

Rubber seal conditioner. This is a must-have for any time of the year but especially to start of the season with. Spray it on your slide out seals and any other rubber around the doors, windows or storage bins to keep them looking and working like new. Use it regularly!

After you’ve gotten those rubber seals taken care of you’ll need to make sure you are stocked up on slide out lube too. If you ran out of it last season you can order more HERE

Overlanding - Getting Started

You don’t have to have the biggest baddest truck on the road to go explore, although that’s fun. Over the years I have had old trucks, classics, new trucks, built trucks, stock trucks and most brands. I definitely have favorites, and favorites for different reasons, but no matter what I […]
